Environmental Policy Statement
General Motors Company adopted enviromental Principles to serve as a guide for all GM Employees worldwide. They encourage environmental consciousness in both daily conduct and in the planning of future products and programs.
As a responsible citizen, General Motors is dedicated to protecting human health, natural resources and global environment.
This dedication reaches further than compliance with the law to encompass the integration of sound environmental practices into our business decisions.
- We are committed to actions to restore and preserve the environment.
- We are committed to reducing waste and pollutants, conserving resources and recycling materials.
- We are committed to educate, train and motivate employees and individuals to conduct their activities in a responsible way.
- We will actively participate in educating the public regarding envitonment conservation.
- We are committed to assess the environmental impacts of our activities, products and services and to reduce these impacts through the establishment of appropriate objectives and targets.
- We will maintain communications with our local community and co-operate with legislators, regulators and other organisations with an interest in our environmental performance.
- We will comply with applicable envitonmetal legal requirements and with other requirements.
- We will continually assess the impact of our plants and products on the environment and the communities in which we live and operate with a goal of continuous improvement.
This policy will be communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of GMSA and be available to the public
