Owners Maintenance Plans

  • The Maintenance Plan will commence on the date of sale of the new vehicle and continue for the duration or mileage, whichever occurs first.
  • The Warranty of 5 years or 120 000km, whichever occurs first, remains unaffected by the introduction of a Maintenance Plan.

What is covered under a Maintenance Plan?

Standard vehicle services as specified in the Manufacturer Service Schedules, as well as all reasonably required maintenance to keep the vehicle in roadworthy condition such as:

  • All “R-Replace” items as per the Manufacturer Service Schedule
  • Shock absorbers
  • Exhaust systems
  • Friction/maintenance components, such as brakes, clutch etc, which falls due for replacement as a result of normal wear and tear
  • Parts & Labour to carry out the servicing
  • Lubricants and Coolant
  • Consumables

What is not covered under the Complete Maintenance Plan?

  • Services and maintenance at a non-approved workshops (i.e. not a GM South Africa Dealer)
  • Rust inspection and rust prevention treatment
  • Any accident or impact damage as well as rust repairs (normal Rust/Corrosion warranty applies)
  • Windscreens, windows, headlights, tail-lights, lenses and mirrors on the vehicle
  • Damaged wheels, Tyres and puncture repairs
  • Telephone kits and related accessories fitted to the vehicle
  • Vehicle tracking, anti-hijacking or similar devices
  • Any cleaning and valet services
  • Fuel, top-up fluids and any fuel or oil additives
  • Any item or part missing from the vehicle
  • Repairs and maintenance of the vehicle occasioned by driver/owner error, negligence, abuse and/or outside interference, however arising
  • Repairs arising from the failure of the owner/driver to comply with the obligations and warranties referred to in this agreement, including specific repairs required as a consequence of not servicing the vehicle within the manufacturer specified kilometre service intervals and limits
  • Service and maintenance at unauthorised dealers
  • Replacement or upgrading of any CD-ROM, specifically, but not limited to, those related to satellite navigation systems
  • Repairs and maintenance relating to modifications, tuning, upgrading and all accessories
  • Any repairs and maintenance not authorised by the Maintenance Plan administrator/s
  • Non Maintenance related repairs – I.e. Trim, Stone chips, etc
  • Maintenance or wear and tear as a result of vehicles operating in severe conditions or abnormal conditions

Are Extension Plans available?

Extension plans for vehicles that come standard with Maintenance Plans are available. Queries relating to extension parameters and rates may be directed through a GM South Africa Franchise dealer.
